Beach Street Extension Vendor Guidelines

Application deadline:

As we are hoping people will participate for our entire season, we are closing applications on May 1st.

 

When/how will I know if I've been accepted? 

Vendors will be notified by email First Friday VH on or before May 10 whether their application has been accepted.  An invoice for payment will be sent at this time, along with some additional questions to help us advertise throughout the season.

Payment:

Vendor fees for the season must be paid in advance of events either online or by check made out to: Vineyard Haven Harbor Cultural District, noting ‘First Friday VH’ and sent to PO Box 4658, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568.

In alignment with our mission, we want every artist to feel open to apply.  If show costs are a barrier for you to join, please reach out at firstfridayvh@gmail.com to discuss other payment options.

Jurying Process:

We love making everyone welcome at our First Friday VH events!  In an effort to keep this a well-rounded show that is successful for all vendors, we are accepting applications in all art fields but will make sure to not be too heavily focused on any one medium. While manufactured products (such as printed products designed but not directly created by the artist) are allowed, our jury process will prioritize artists selling items they've made by hand.

Arrival and Set-up:

Exact times are still being finalized but expect to arrive between 7:30 - 8:00am.  All cars must be gone from Beach Street Extension after 8:30am. The Public is invited between 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

 

You are responsible to bring tables or racks to display your goods. No items can be placed outside of the assigned space. Vendors are responsible for setting up and taking down their set-up, taking trash off site for disposal, and leaving their spot like they found it and trash-free, after 2:00pm.

Take-down:

All vendors must stay open until the market ends at 2pm.  After market cars will be allowed back onto street after 2:30pm (still finalizing this time).

How many vendors will there be?

We are aiming for at least 20 vendors confirmed each month.  We are still finalizing the exact setup so the final vendor number is open to change.

Weather Cancelation policy:

All First Friday VH events are outdoor events. We cancel for stormy weather and all-day rain. WE DO NOT CANCEL FOR FOG, LIGHT MIST, OVERCAST OR CLOUDY SKIES. In the event of a cancellation due to inclement conditions, the market manager will send a text and email by 6:30am the DAY OF the event.

Artist Cancelation policy:

If a vendor is unable to participate in a market they have committed to, the vendor must notify the market managers as soon as possible. No refunds will be granted for unattended market dates. 

Flammable Materials:

No vendor or guest, shall use any smoke/fire/candles, etc. or flammable substance while at the market.

Vendor Liability:

In consideration of being a vendor at the First Friday VH Art Market, I agree to assume full responsibility for any property I may bring on the premises and will hold neither the First Friday VH coordinators, nor other Town of Tisbury responsible for damages, theft, or other liabilities that may occur in conjunction with or at this show including set up and break down times.
